Jesus' protection

Well, I landed in Portland at 10:50 last night. The second I got off the plane and started walking down that long hallway that leads to the inside of the airport, I felt the freezing 31 degree cold air. I could see my breath. Once I got into the airport, I walked super slow to baggage claim because I knew Mom wasn't going to be there yet to pick me up. The longer I could stay in the warm airport, the better. I got my bags and went outside......it took about another 10 minutes before she picked me up. I got in the car and Mom already had the heat on full blast.....she knows me so well. Mom wasn't driving her own car though.....she was driving my aunt's car, her sister's. She then began to tell me the story of how she wrecked her car on Sunday. Her and my niece, Jordan, had just left church and were on their way to Ihop. It was foggy and she wasn't paying close enough attention and she sideswiped the median going 50. There were no other cars involved. She trashed her tires and some other parts of the car....I'm not really sure what parts. Mom got out of the car and was sitting on the ground crying her eyes out with Jordan still sitting in the back seat. My aunt and aunt's friend with AAA came, the car was towed to the shop, and then they all went to lunch. When they were eating, my sweet niece told Mom, "Nanny when you were crying a lot, I was praying that you wouldn't be sad and that you would be happy and now you are and I love you." I love that girl!! I thank Jesus SO MUCH that Mom and Jordan are okay and the car wasn't totaled. Mom told me that she didn't want to call me and tell me what happened because she knew I was already stressed enough with packing, cleaning, putting stuff into storage, and saying my goodbyes to friends at school. She was right, I wouldn't of been able to get through the weekend if I knew Mom and Jordan were in an accident. Even though they are alright, it would of taken my stress to a whole new level. My Mom is already struggling financially, and she put new tires on it about a month ago and put $500 into last week for new brakes and now she has to pay $1000 to get her car fixed. Somehow insurance doesn't have to cover it, she explained it to me but I didn't really understand. Praying somehow, some extra money comes in. Thank you Jesus, thank you for my family, thank you for Your protection, thank you keeping my family safe. I love you. In Your Name, amen.
